You can now pick up an iPhone with unlimited minutes, texts and mobile Internet for £45 a month, rather than £60 per month previously charged by Tesco Mobile.
That’s cheaper than Vodafone’s £75 per month and indeed cheaper than O2’s £60/month deal. That last thing’s significant because O2 actually provides the mobile infrastructure for Tesco under an MVNO deal.
No doubt Tesco will bring a few users in, particularly as the summer party, festival and travel season begins.
Lets hope the O2 network holds up. *And bear in mind Apple’s pretty much guaranteed to introduce an upgraded iPhone model in the next few months.
