Rare jam: Muse + Mike Skinner online now

A never-to-be-released song created by Muse and The Streets frontman, MIke Skinner, has emerged.

Muse said of the song, called ‘Who Knows Who’: “The track was the result of a late night jam session and something we did for a bit of a laugh featuring a blues riff we have been playing live recently upon which Skinner recorded some vocals.”

The song even has its own promo video, and you can watch and listen to both right here (thanks to Tour Dates, who saw it first). Catch it after the blip.

The Streets say, ‘Everything Is Borrowed’

Hugely popular UK act, The Streets, recently made a digital play, offering their track, ‘The Escapist’, as a free download as the band prepare to release their next album.

Six years ago The Streets’ Mercury Prize-nominated debut album ‘Original Pirate Material’ established Mike Skinner’s MC cred. He followed this up with ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ in 2004, selling three million copies. And 2006 saw the release of ‘The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living’.

Hamfatter, The Streets rising stars online

This month’s lists of the top 20 band/artist searches sending traffic to social networking sites and music blogs for the four weeks ending August 2.

The list appeared this afternoon on the blog of Hitwise Intelligence analyst, Robin Goad. The lead seems to go to Basshunter and Biffy Clyro, who have been leading traffic for months.
