iTunes gets Clear Channel and FM radio tagging

Clear Channel has made ten of its AM/FM and Internet radio streams available to iPhone and iPod touch owners through its newly released iHeartRadio application.

The application draws content from the channel’s streaming radio website, and is being made available for free. The website also offers music news, live performances, ringtones, lyrics and more.

iPhone users playing music using the application can also take a look at album art and song lyrics which accompany the music. Oh, and they also get streamed ads, provided by Ando.

Microsoft slight upgrade for Zune

On the eve of Apple’s event tonight, Microsoft announced its all-new range of (US-only) Zune players, equipping these with the capacity to tag songs and buy music directly from FM radio built-into the player.

Also from September 16, Zune will offer WiFi access to the Zune Marketplace for song purchases and subscriptions. Zune is also expanding its device lineup with new 16GB and 120GB capacities as well as shiny new blue-on-silver and sleek all-black colour schemes.
