UK act One Eskimo and Warner Bros. have announced plans to release the band’s first visual album through iTunes on August 31 (trailer above).
The visual album, “The Adventures of One Eskimo,” features ten animated musical story episodes developed and produced by the band and Warner Premiere.
“We believe there is an opportunity for music and narrative to be combined into a new category of storytelling for digital mediums,” says Diane Nelson, president of Warner Premiere. “‘The Adventures of One Eskimo’ is a wonderful love story using adorable characters to tell a story in a truly creative way. We’re looking forward to launching this series in September and working with additional artists on similar projects in the future.”
The question we’re asking, given recent chatter concerning Apple’s moves to attempt to define new album formats (Cocktail), is this visual album release a hint of what to expect as Apple tries to migrate music sales to Apps?
