Oasis schlep (almost) free track for fans

Oasis is offering a free track to fans who pre-order the band’s latest album, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ through iTunes.

The track, ‘Falling Down’, is taken from the album which itself won’t ship until October 6. A Chemical Brothers remix of the same track is set to feature as the B-side to the first single to be taken from the album, which you can also watch/listen to after the jump.

Way back in July, Oasis’ Noel Gallagher said he believes Radiohead’s ‘pay-what-you-like’ method of releasing the hugely successful ‘In Rainbows’ album was a “free marketing” ploy.

“To be honest, to me it looked like marketing … good for them. That’s what they do, they’re rebels and outsiders,” he said. At that time, Gallagher said Oasis had no plan to repeat the experiment, though, “”That’s not our bag,” he said. “I didn’t spend a year in the most expensive studio in England, with the most expensive producer in America, and the most expensive graphic designer in London to then give it away. Fuck that,” he said.
