McFly moots Mail music giveaway

Perhaps a little derivative in the wake of Prince, McFly is the latest act to choose to give away their latest album with a newspaper, inking a deal to offer a copy of new album Radio:ACTIVE with the Mail on Sunday newspaper on 20 July.
Singer Tom Fletcher told the BBC it was a good way of expanding their fanbase. We want to get our music out to the widest audience possible and working with a massive paper like The Mail On Sunday will definitely help us achieve that,” he said.
Stephen Miron, managing director of The Mail On Sunday told the Press Association: “As part of The Mail On Sunday’s ongoing innovation in bringing new music to the masses and exactly a year since we created a world first with Prince’s new album, we are absolutely delighted to be involved with one of the UK’s biggest selling pop acts, McFly.”
The band has enjoyed seven UK number one singles since 2004 and has now set up its own record label.
