Now EMI has put together its very own iTunes competitor, though it’s a limited implementation mainly available to guests of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has partnered with EMI Music on a new branded music scheme which offers hotel guests exclusive access to a catalogue of digital music which is being made available through The Fairmont Music Store.
The catalogue includes EMI’s big-hitters: Coldplay, Moby, Lily Allen, Keith Urban, Katy Perry, The Beach Boys, Secret City recording artist Patrick Watson and many more.
The store is available through the hotel chain’s website, which also offers hotel guests in North America some nice discounts on digital music and other “music-related experiences”, the partners said.
You can also visit the store using any web browser, so long as you are situated in North America.
As part of the new music initiative, Fairmont is also extending discounts and additional benefits to members of its guest loyalty program: Fairmont President’s Club (FPC). Benefits range from a 15 per cent discount for FPC members on any digital music purchased via the portal to priority access and ticketing privileges for special events and concerts featuring EMI artists.
“Music is very emotive, and it’s a universal expression that almost everyone on the planet can relate to,” said Brian Richardson, Fairmont’s Vice President, Brand Marketing & Communications. “
