EMI artists continue to engage with the internet, with US singer-songwriter, Conor Oberst, this morning announcing plans to stream his entire next album online on the artist website.
Conor Oberst has been called “A great American song-writer” by Mojo, and, “the most gifted and intelligent lyricist under 30 working in America – and possibly anywhere – today” by The Independent.
His first solo album in thirteen years, Conor Oberst was made in Tepoztlán in Mexico. A temporary studio was created in a mountain villa called Valle Místico at the outskirts of town and a special band was assembled for the recording, known amongst themselves and to friends as The Mystic Valley Band.
Conor Oberst is released on 4th August on Wichita Recordings world-wide excluding North America. Wichita are the label that launched Bright Eyes (erm, a band which features, ahem, Conor Oberst) in Europe back in 2000 with the release of debut LP Fevers & Mirrors, and a further two Bright Eyes albums.
