Coldplay’s ‘Viva la Vida’ was the biggest selling iTunes album download of 2008 in both the US and the UK iTunes Stores. Leona Lewis’s “Bleeding Love” was named the top-selling single.
Coldplay shifted over two million copies of the album on CD since launch in June, along with 500,000 digital sales, mostly through iTunes.
In the UK, ‘Viva la Vida’ was followed by Duffy’s ‘Rockferry’, Kings of Leon ‘Only By The Night’ with the Mamma Mia movie soundtrack slithering into fourth place in sales.
