Beijing’s Olympic MP3 player…

The Olympics have exploded online, with millions in the US attempting to find footage of the opening ceremony – but now the sports event has spawned a whole new thing – the Olympic ‘Bird’s Nest’ Stadium MP3 player.

This odd-looking little device (which could make an interesting souvenir, let’s face it) is available in capacities of up to 4GB, has an LCD display and sports an official Olympic 2008 logo on its understand, where you’ll find the controls.

Audio formats supported are MP3, WMA, ASF, and WAV. Also included is 7 EQ settings and a built in microphone for digital voice recording. It costs $19.20 for the 1GB and $32.56 for the 4GB model, and for some reason we’d kind of like to see one in the flesh, so to speak…

Oh yes, a matching speaker is also available. And it includes an FM player and seven position EQ…
