BBC Worldwide has finally reached a deal which brings its rich trove of content to iTunes users in France, with shows from the broadcaster now made available through the French version of the media store.
This follows a similar move this time last month, when shows from the BBC were made available for purchase through the German version of the store.
The BBC was the first British broadcaster to offer television programmes on iTunes in the UK and is now the first to offer the same service to iTunes customers in Germany.
The available collection includes Galapagos, Extras, Torchwood and Bottom. French audiences can download shows for €1.99 per episode for use on a Mac or PC, iPod with video, iPhone or widescreen TV with Apple TV.
Making BBC programming available on the iTunes Store is key to BBC Worldwide’s stated objective to secure the broadest possible distribution for its huge range of television content.
