Apple offers free iPod touch to UK students

08ipodtouchheroApple has announced its regular ‘Back To School’ promo for the UK, matching its already revealed US deal and offering a free iPod touch with any qualifying Mac purchase.

University students and faculty, as well as teachers and lecturers of all levels qualify for education pricing from Apple on a new Mac and software. Qualifying Macs include iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and MacBook.

The deal comes in the form of a £145 rebate: Buy a Mac and a qualifying iPod from now until September 8, fill in a rebate form and you’ll receive the rebate.

Interestingly, Apple’s move to Facebook continues, the official page detailing the rebate includes a link users can employ to tell their Facebook friends about the deal.

Given Apple’s move earlier this week to link its iTunes Festival up with Facebook, will this give rise to speculation Apple plans to take investment in the extremely popular social networking service?

More information on the deal is available here.
