We7 becomes UK’s no 1 music streaming site, beats Last.fm, makes joint deal with men’s mag, GQ.
GQ.com has teamed up with Peter Gabriel’s UK based music streaming service, We7, to let visitors listen to music across the men’s magazine’s website.
The service goes live on August 3 and will feature a jukebox on GQ.com which lets users play bespoke playlists, with tracks picked by GQ.com’s editorial team, while visitors can click through to We7 to buy tracks.
We7 has more than 2m unique users and was last week rated by independent web analysis service, Hitwise as the UK’s Number 1 music site by page views, overtaking last.fm. (See chart below).
The service also has deals in place with other publication sites including The Guardian and NME.
