Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse join MusicTank

will join music industry group, Musictank’s panel next week in which panelists will discuss the creation of compelling alternatives to file-sharing.

Vodafone UK Head of Music – Mobile Internet and Content Services, Tom McLennan, will join the panel along with an unannounced Carphone Warehouse person.

McLennan is responsible for Vodafone UK’s music products and the launch of MusicStation, and has the reputation of having an eye for new commercial models with a particular interest in what subscription-based services might offer operators and labels.

The panel will also include Frank Taubert, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 24-7 Entertainment, Jonathan Friend, founder and technical director of Friend MTS, and Jim Gelcer, Vice President Content Acquisition and Business Development of Noank Media Inc, who is flying in from Canada to deliver the keynote address. Noank is a startup founded at Harvard with a new model for distributing digital media which claims to solve the problem of illegal file sharing.

This event takes place on 4 November at 6.30pm at The Basement, MCPS-PRS Alliance on Berners Street, London. Tickets cost £30.
