7digital.com today opened for business in Sweden, offering its Swedish MP3 download store, offering tracks from all four majors and a range of independent labels, in high-quality MP3 320kbps format.
Track pricing will be highly competitive at launch, with single tracks costing only 7 kronor and albums starting at 79 kronor.
UK online music service, 7digital and home entertainment specialist, Imerge have joined forces to implement a system that allows users to access and purchase high quality MP3s directly through Imerge’s home entertainment systems.
Imerge provides luxury entertainment systems that allow customers to record, store and playback music, video and media to multiple rooms in their home through connected control panels.

As of 4.30p this afternoon, 4AD is giving away a track from ‘Actor’, the new St. Vincent release that’s scheduled to ship on May 4.
The label describes the song “The Strangers”, which is the first track on the album, as “starting off as a deceptively dulcet elegy for a lost love, which suddenly capsizes under a flood of distortion.”
St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) will be previewing songs from ‘Actor’ at South by Southwest this month.

Joining the list of online music services making seasonal offers, ad-supported music service We7 has become an ad-free service for the Christmas season.
The company will remove all audio advertising from its music tracks for the festive period (between Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve), so music fans can listen online to as many full tracks and albums as they want for free, completely uninterrupted by ads.
We7 CEO, Steve Purdham, said, “2008 has been a sea change year for digital music, with positive support and action coming from the music industry and great growth and acceptance for We7.”
New York’s independent record label Team Love, a company led by Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst has launched a new online resource offering free music from its acts.
The Team Love Library is to be a regularly changed collection of existing releases and other content from the label, with music made available in DRM-free MP3 format.
