From the “recycle me and use me up” department, former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has once again railed against EMI for the failure so far to offer music by the legendary band for sale and download via iTunes and other digital music services.
“To tell you the truth I don’t actually understand how it’s got so crazy,” Sir Paul told Newsbeat. “I know iTunes would like to do it, so one day it’s going to happen.” Read the rest of this entry »
Warner Music Group CEO, Edgar Bronfman Jr, is full of praise for Apple – sparking fresh speculation iTunes streaming music services may be on the way in the latest financial call.
He was very backward in responding to questions on this, saying:
“Apple is not currently a retailer involved in an access or subscription model. I’d probably like not to speculate on what Apple’s plans are – it’s really interesting technology that it acquired in the Lala acquisition. That’s a question that Apple management should answer,” he wrote as reported here.
“I don’t think Apple’s really that clear to the market (on the subscription suggestion), so I wouldn’t suggest it will not have an impact, but I certainly won’t speculate what kind of impact it will have.
“We made great progress with Apple last year on variable pricing. It’s our hope that we can continue to make great progress. But I can ‘t say that there’s a specific intiaitive today with Apple,” he said. Read the rest of this entry »

Apple’s been called up: so soon we’re going to see lines of battle-hardened iPhones, tooled-up iPads, weary iMacs and battalions of MacBook Pros marching to America’s wars as a leading US Army group plans to migrate to the Mac.
