We7 today officially launched its ads-supported music service, offering UK music lovers the chance to listen to whatever music they choose for free, and offering a chance to buy their favourite music.
The service’s extensive catalogue includes music from a three million strong catalogue of artists including Kings of Leon, Pink, Nickelback, and Estelle.
We7 is adding up to 30,000 tracks a day to its collection of over 3 million licensed tracks, including many new releases as they become available.

Bubbling sensation UK band The Hours are offering fans the chance to download anthemic album track, ‘Ali In The Jungle’ to mark the release of new single. ‘See The Light’.
A short film to accompany The Hours new single will be exclusively available to view on www.myspace.com today and thereafter on the band’s website, www.thehours.co.uk.
Free track “Ali In The Jungle” from their debut album, Narcissus Road, and is available from the band’s website.
Formed in 2004 by Ant Genn and Martin Slattery (men individually previously part of Elastica, Pulp, Black Grape, UNKLE and more)

iTunes has a huge treat for fans of seminal UK band, The Clash - a free video of the act performing classic track, ‘London Calling’.
The video is described by customers on the iTunes site as the “iconic video of the iconic song by an iconic band.” It’s also described as “arguably the best song from arguably the best band that ever graced the face of the earth”. High praise indeed.

Taking a stance on the US Presidential election, Everclear have made their song, ‘Jesus Was A Democrat’, available for free download.
Art Alexakis was inspired to write the song way back in 1988, when right wing sentiment on both sides of the Atlantic meant that the people thought ‘Liberals’ were the enemy, the band remark.

Enduring cult rock act, Marillion, will make their new album, ‘Happiness Is the Road’, available for free download through file-sharing websites.
The band plan a slice of pester power, though - tracks will include software to cause a little pop-up box to appear on screen when the tracks are first played - but all this will ask fans to do is give the band their email address.
There’s future benefits, also, downloaders will in future be contacted with offers of gig tickets and other merchandise, to try to make some money back for the band.

With over one million downloads, free iPhone app Tap Tap Revenge has attracted a whole lot of attention as pundits ponder what the game developer will do next to leverage that share - and the future seems to include free music and advertising.
Released Friday,Tap Tap Revenge 1.2 contains the option to download new songs - one from Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, ‘Fire’, a track taken from ‘Repentance’, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s new album.
The other track is an exclusive promo affair from Everlast, who are offering their new track, ‘Stone In My Hand’ from upcoming album, ‘Love, War and the Ghost of Whitey Ford’, for free exclusively through the game.

Warner Music UK has reached a deal with pioneering ad-funded music service, We7, under which music from Warner’s repertoire will be available on We7.com through both on-demand, ad-funded audio streaming and paid-for MP3 downloads.
It’s a big deal because it means Warner Music UK is the first major music company to offer MP3s using the We7 platform. Borrowing a leaf from Last.fm, We7 users will be able to stream tracks, create playlists, share their favourites and embed songs into their own webspace.

Oasis is offering a free track to fans who pre-order the band’s latest album, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ through iTunes.
The track, ‘Falling Down’, is taken from the album which itself won’t ship until October 6. A Chemical Brothers remix of the same track is set to feature as the B-side to the first single to be taken from the album, which you can also watch/listen to after the jump.
