Multiple sources have apparently hinted at such a move in talks with Moconews.net, with T-Mobile apparently hatching a plan to launch an app store across its entire range of phones.
“Think of Apple’s App store, but for the entire carrier’s handset line-up from smartphone to feature phone.
One developer observes: “The App store was a big deal, but that’s one phone. This is an entire carrier.”
Developers will submit their applications online and receive a revenue-share agreement based on how much network resources are consumed. The store’s slated to ship this autumn and to apply to all the carrier’s platforms from upcoming Android to Java to Sidekick and Windows Mobile.
