I got a nice letter from music discovery service, Shazam’s “people” today, it seems the application is available now for Nokia’s N97 and is being made available free to use until the end of November, read on:
“We wanted to let you know that Shazam is celebrating the release of the Nokia N97 by offering its Shazam application on a free to use basis until 30th November inside the Ovi store. The promotion will be run on a limited – first come first served – basis so you and your readers will need to be quick if they want to snag Shazam for free this summer.
“Users who tag tracks with Shazam’s promo application will be able to access and download millions of tracks through a direct link to the Nokia Music Store. The summer promotion is available for Nokia users for S60 5.0 devices including the Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and many S60 3.1 and 3.2 Nokia handsets including the Nokia N95 and Nokia E71.
“The special limited free version of Shazam can be downloaded from the Ovi Store by Nokia now. At the end of the promotional period, if you and your readers want to keep and continue to use Shazam you will have 30 days to upgrade to the fully-featured version for a one-off fee of £4 / €5 or you can choose to continue Shazaming for free on a limited feature and tagging basis.”
So there you go then. Cool. Shazam is already an incredibly useful application on the iPhone, and now it’s available for Nokia.
