iPhone sales in Russia are well below expectations, with only 30,000 units sold in the country so far, a report this morning claims.
Russia was a well-known market for unlocked iPhones – the report suggests there were already 100,000 iPhones in use in the country before the product’s official launch last month.
However, the report suggests the three Russian iPhone carriers are disappointed with sales achieved given their spend on marketing and ads in advance of the launch.
A second report may make better reading for Apple execs, reeling at the departure of Tony Fadell. “iPhone manufacturer Apple ranks highest in overall customer satisfaction among business wireless smartphone users, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Business Wireless Smartphone Customer Satisfaction Study.”
Kirk Parsons, senior director of wireless services for J.D. Power and Associates said, “By making basic applications and features easy to use and providing functionality in a thin, lightweight device, Apple has performed well in exceeding customer expectations.
