Online video explodes, MySpace declines

The latest comScore figures are in, confirming an explosion in online video watching and once again showing Facebook as the leading social network, at the expense of once great MySpace.
US internet users watching 11 billion web videos a month, the latest figures reveal – on average that’s 81 videos for each of 134 million US internet users. 71 per cent of the total US internet audience viewed online video, the average viewer watched 228 minutes of it during the month, and 18-34 year-olds are the heaviest viewers. YouTube saw 4.1 billion video views, while MySpace experienced 481 million.
Facebook grabbed 123.9 million unique visitors in May, an increase of 6 per cent; while MySpace saw 114.6 million, down 1 per cent.
