Beatles video game deal ‘in weeks’

Beatles management company Apple Corp. is in talks with two video-games companies with a view to introduce a Beatles-themed video game….
Representatives of the band have been chatting to Activision and MTV Games (makers of Guitar Hero and Rock Band respectively) to discuss concepts for the game.
Various reports claim a deal could be completed within weeks, though it would still have to be approved by a long list of interested parties: Apple Corps., EMI and (in the event of use of one of the 200 songs copyright on which is owned by Sony) Sony. The deal could be worth several million dollars
Apple Corps. board features former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and the surviving familes of the other two: Olivia Harrison, wife of the late George Harrison, and Yoko Ono, wife of John Lennon.
Apple Corps and EMI have not yet licensed the band’s music for digital release, but this ‘Holy Grail’ of music licensing is always speculated upon.
