Apple’s been called up: so soon we’re going to see lines of battle-hardened iPhones, tooled-up iPads, weary iMacs and battalions of MacBook Pros marching to America’s wars as a leading US Army group plans to migrate to the Mac.
Major General Nick Justice and several members of his staff traveled to Cupertino this month to discuss using Apple’s solutions in the field.
Major General Justice leads the US Army’s Research, Development, and Engineering Command. He wants to abandon some proprietary Army systems in favour of consumer products, including Apple mobile products.
The Army VIPs got a (look, I’d like to see these) tour of Apple’s labs and discussed existing uses of Apple tech in battle scenarios.
“Apple technologies offer unique and proven solutions with intuitive designs that allow users to learn quickly without a training manual,” said Ron Szymanski, CERDEC’s lead computer scientist on the project. “The Army would like to leverage Apple’s experience when designing military applications.”
Dr. Gerardo J. Melendez, director, CERDEC Command and Control Directorate, said, “Eliminating unnecessary processes or degrees of trial and error can only help us as we transition applications that can be deployed to numerous tactical levels throughout the Army.”

All joking aside, anything that makes the job of defending quicker, easier, and safer is bound to save American lives, kill more enemies, and cost the taxpayer less money.
If anyone can figure out how to kill a terrorist more efficiently, it ought to be Apple.

Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your post seem to be running off the screen in Firefox.
I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know.
The design look great though! Hope you get the issue fixed soon.
Kudos
