Apple’s senior vice president of industrial design, Jonathan Ive, will next month receive an honorary doctorate from the world-leading Royal College of Art (RCA) during a convocation ceremony on July 3.
Ive will join outgoing RCA rector Professor Sir Christopher Frayling and sculptor Tony Cragg in receiving award. The Professor will be granted honorary rector status.
Others from the great and good within the art and design community receiving awards of various kinds from the RCA next month will include Wolff Olins co-founder Michael Wolff and Professor Frank Height, who will both receive senior fellowships.
Interior designer Victoria Conran, wife of Terence, will receive an honorary fellowship.
