Apple updates iPhone, iPod touch and iTunes
Apple has issued a iPhone Software 2.2, ushering in support for Google StreetView in Maps alongside support for Emoji icons in Japan.
The update features include:
Enhancements to Maps:
- Google Street View
- Public transit and walking directions
- Display address of dropped pins
- Share location via email
Enhancements to Mail
- Resolved isolated issues with scheduled fetching of email
- Improved formatting of wide HTML email
- Improved stability and performance of Safari,
- Search has also been enhanced in the Safari interface.
Podcasts are now available for download in iTunes application (over WiFi and cellular). Music can only be downloaded via a WiFI connection, though.
- Decrease in call set-up failures and call drops
- Improved sound quality of visual voicemail messages
- Preferences to turn on/off auto-correction in Keyboard settings
The company also issued a maintenance release for iTunes and a similar updated for the iPod touch, which lacks support for Street View, reports claim.

I tried to update this morning and it told me now new updates. Maybe I have to wait till America wakes up.
