Japanese iPhone users have a TV treat, with local mobile carrier Softbank’s introduction of a combined digital TV tuner-cum-recharger for iPhone users.
The move is similar to that which Elgato is said to be engaged in in to offer a means by which iPhone users can enjoy Freeview digital TV on their phone.
The 80-gram tuner provides TV over WiFi and doubles as a battery extender when plugged into the iPhone 3G’s dock connector, allowing three hours of continuous viewing. You watch TV using the free 1-Seg iPhone application.
